Abstract :The design of two dimensional(2-D) recursive digital filters is currently receiving wide attention. These filters have many applications, including biomedicine, space imagery and seismic prospeting. However, the autoregressive (AR) lattice parameter approach, in particular has met with much less success. In this paper, a method based on 2-D asymmetric half-plane lattice parameters, for the design of 2-D recursive digital filters is presented. These filter are adopted to achieve full design flexibility, and the sufficient lattice parameter stability conditions are derived. Furthermore, a design procedure is used to calculate the lattice parameter from the prescribed frequency characteristics. Then, using digital computer simulations, the effectiveness of the proposed filter is evaluated.
