Abstract :The present study examined the effect of social problem solving ability on children's concept of friends and self. The first grade children were administered open-ended interviews, a forced-choice task. As the results shows that high ability group of social problem solving task had higher description level of self-other cognition. The findings are disscussed in terms of methodological problems of verbal reports on self and friends of children.
