Abstract :1. Approaches to a better understanding of the nature of the adolescent and his problems are the studies of basic needs, specific problems (Cole, L.), characteristic needs (Kuhlen, R. G. ), developmental tasks (Havighurst, R. J.), and further importance from socio-psychological and educational points of view may be the imperative needs of adolescents (Bernard, H. W.), 2. Those similar concepts are introduced and considered from the stand-point of psychological study of adolescence. Each terminology should be interpreted somewhat differently in those views between of general psychology and of educational psychology. 3. The important look of some of problems of adolescents is summarized as their imperative needs, which are as following, (1) Developing saleable skills (2) Developing and maintaining good physical and mentnl health (3) Knowing and acting the rights and duties of a citizen (4) Understanding the siginificance of the family (5) Knowing how to purchase and use goods (6) Understanding the methods and implications of science (7) Developing appreciation for beauty-music, nature, art, and literature (8) Creating useful leisure time (9) Developing respect for others 00 Improving abihty to think, talk, read, and listen. 4. The study of the imperative needs may be criticized mostly because it is outside topic of the traditional area in the "psychctogy of adolescence", But the writer believes, the "psychology of adolescence" should deal with not only the scienftific study of adolescent psychology but also the psychological approach to the adolescent problems including the internal forces and the external force of their development and behaviors. The external forces are stressed by him as urgent problems for guidance.
