Abstract :The Miyako Islands consist of eight islets, namely Ohgarai, Ikema, Simoji, Irabu, Kurima, Miyako, Tarama and Minna (Fig. 1). The islets are all flat and level, having maximum elevation of 114.6 meters. Miyako-jima is the largest of these islets (Table 2). Limestone formations ere particularly conspicuous on all the islands. Although many workers have studied the flora of the Miyako Islands, comprehensive accounts on this have not yet been published. The present work is intended to elucidate the flora of pteridophytes of these islets. Altogether twelve families, twenty-one genera and thirty-three species were recorded (Table 1).
