Abstract :This study presents a experimental analysis of radial flow, without swirl, between parallel circular discs, using incompressible air flow. Discussions are made on the pressure distributions and the velocity profiles all over the radial flow channel, comparing with the theories. It is shown that the approximate solutions for the turbulent flow agree with the experiment. The reattachment distance are functions only of the channel witdh and are independent of the discs. The minimum pressure in the separation bubble is also only dependent on the channel width.
