| Abstract | : | The purpose of this paper is to research a pratical method of teaching Ryukyuan Dance as a subject at school. In order to achieve both practical and effective system of teaching, systemizing of the warming-up exercises before learning each dance seems important. In this paper, two types of exercises are introduced with pictures: (1) Body Training---straight body posture, weight emphasis, balancing, bending of the knees, walking, legs and feet movements and bearing. (2) Basic movements---walking techniques, hand thrusts, turnings and feet stamping, standing positions, proper level of the arms and legs, finger forms, wrist movements and others. |
