Title :ヤマモモこぶ病菌ファージによる数種の樹木こぶ病菌の類別(生産環境学科)

Abstract :ヤマモモこぶ病のこぶ組織と土壌からファージを別々に分離した。この2株のファージを採集場所の違う複数のヤマモモこぶ病菌の21菌株に対して寄主範囲試験を実施した結果, ファージの寄生性によって, こぶ病菌を九州・沖縄と静岡の2系統に区別することができた。さらに, 既存の樹木こぶ病菌6種70菌株に対して寄主範囲試験を行った結果, このファージはP.syringae群の樹木こぶ病菌に対して種特異性があると推定できた。これらのことから, 本ファージによる寄主範囲試験が将来, P.syringae群の病原細菌に起因する樹木こぶ病を判別するための有効な手段となる可能性のあることが示唆された。
Two bacteriophages were isolated from bacterial galls of Yamamomo (Myrica rubra) trees and soil samples collected under the diseased Yamamomo trees, respectively. These phages were tested for their infectivity to 21 isolates of Pseudomonas syringae pv. myricae that were collected from different places. These phages differentiated this bacterium into two groups which were obtained in Kyushu, Okinawa and Shizuoka, respectevely. In addition, 70 isolates belonging to 6 species of bacterial gall pathogens of forest trees were phagetyped with these two phages. The results indicated that these phages also infected some gall pathogens of forest trees belonging to P. syringae VAN HALL. Consequently, the phagetyping with these phages may become a useful tool in future to distinguish the pathovars of P. syringae that cause bacterial galls of forest trees.
