Title :ギンゴウカン群落に関する研究 : 第 3 報土壤型と根系(林学科)

Abstract :1.沖縄本島南部の異なる3つの土壤型, 塩基性埴質未熟土(ジャーガル), 未熟塩基系暗赤色土(島尻マーヂ)及び砂質未熟土(カニク), に生育するギンゴウカン林の根系について調査した。2.塩基性埴質未熟土では主根が明瞭な垂下根となり深根性の典型的なギンゴウカン型根系, 未熟塩基系暗赤色土では主根が明瞭な垂下根となるが土層が浅いため浅根性型根系を示している。これらの土壤では根系の分岐は疎放で細根は疎生する。砂質未熟土では主根の発達が悪いが水平根は良く発達して表層部に細根の密生する根系型を示した。3.林分の根系現存量は塩基性埴質未熟土で最大(15.9ton/ha), 砂質未熟土で最小(11.6ton/ha)であった。根系表面積は0.354∿0.693ha/haで砂質未熟土で最大であった。林分全根長は20.5∿128,9km/haで, 未熟塩基系暗赤色土で極端に短く, 砂質未熟土で最長であった。
Root system of L. laticiliqua in three different soil types, marl soil type, dark red soil type and sandy soil type, were stuied in the southern parts of Okinawa Island. The results were summarized as follows : 1. Root system of L. laticiliqua in the marl soil type was typical Gingookan root system type classified by Karizumi, which has pile-like primary root and deep-rootedness type (Fig. 2). In the dark red soil type, root system had saggy primary root, but soil layer was thin in this soil type, it showed shallow-rootedness type (Fig. 4). And in the sandy soil type, another type of root system, pile-like primary root was short and horizontal roots in upper layer were big and long, was appeared (Fig. 6). 2. Root biomass of L. laticiliqua stand ranged from 11.6 ton/ha in the sandy soil type to 15.9 ton/ha in the marl soil type. Root surface area of it ranged from 0.354 ha/ha in the dark red soil type to 0.693 ha/ha in the sandy soil type. And total root length of it ranged from 20.5km/ha in the dark red soil type to 128.9km/ha in the sandy soil type.
