Abstract :本研究は水牛, 牛および山羊の血液諸成分を比較検討し, 水牛の血液学的特性を明らかにすることを目的として行った。供試家畜は雄6頭, 去勢雄4頭および雌9頭の計19頭の水牛, 雌牛5頭, 雌・雄山羊各3頭であった。種間比較可能な雌について, 水牛, 牛および山羊における赤血球数は8.6,7.9,14.8×10^6/mm^3,白血球数は9.4,8.7,7.6×10^3/mm^3,血色素量は15.3,13.0,7.7g/dl, Ht値は41,31,21%で水牛と牛との間には有意差はなかったが, 水牛と山羊の間には明らかな差が認められた。しかし, 血漿蛋白質量, 血糖値およびFFAには3畜種間に差は認められなかった。赤沈速度は水牛(24.0mm/hour)が牛(0.9mm/hour)と山羊(0.2mm/hour)のいずれよりも著しく速かった。しかし, 牛と山羊の間には差が認められなかった。水牛と山羊における雌・雄間に各測定項目の差は認められなかったが, 水牛の去勢雄と雌の赤沈速度においては有意差が認められた。
This experiment was conducted to determine the composition of blood and to make clear the hematological characteristics of the water buffalo found in Okinawa. The experimental animals used were 19 water buffaloes including 6 males, 4 castrated males and 9 females, 5 female Japanese black cattle and 3 Okinawa meat goats of each sex. Comparisons on the hematological characteristics were carried out among these 3 species. The results obtained are summarized as follows. Obtained figures for erythrocyte, leucocyte, hemoglobin, hematocrit value, plasma protein, plasma glucose and plasma free fatty acid in the females of the water buffalo, Japanese black cattle and Okinawa meat goats were 8.6,7.9,14.8×(10)^6/(mm)^3; 9.4,8.7,7.6×(10)^3/(mm)^3; 15.3,13.0,7.7g/dl; 41,31,21%; 7.4,7.0,6.6%; 48.0,47.6,43.0mg/dl and 0.39,0.39,0.47mEq/l, respectively. The water buffalo was significantly different in the former 4 criteria from Okinawa meat goats, but not from Japanese black cattle. Concerning with the latter 3 criteria, however, no statistical differences were observed among the species studied. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate of the water buffalo (24.0mm/hr) was significantly higher than those of Japanese black cattle (0.9mm/hr) and Okinawa meat goats (0.2mm/hr). No statistical difference was found between the latter two species. There was difference in erythrocyte sedimentation rate between castrated male and female of the water buffalo, but no statistical sex differnces in all criteria related to the hematological characteristics were detected in the species of the water buffalo and Okinawa meat goats.
