Title :琉球石灰岩の圧縮強度について(農業工学科)

Abstract :沖縄各地から採取した琉球石灰岩を地質学的に那覇・読谷石灰岩と牧港石灰岩との2つのグループに分け,全体としての圧縮強度と2,3の物理量との関係について調べた。弾性係数と強度の比は近似的に那覇・読谷石灰岩に対して2000 : 1,牧港石灰岩に対して500 : 1である。間げき率の増加に伴い圧縮強度は減少するが,那覇・読谷石灰岩についての著しい強度低下は堆積中に浸透水の溶解作用によって形成された空洞によるものと推定される。ポアソン比は圧縮強度に関係なく平均0.25であった。終りに,本実験を行うに当り実験に協力して頂いた琉球大学農学部卒業生石垣喜宏(沖縄県庁土木部材料試験所),古波蔵朝盛(具志川市役所)両君に感謝の意を表する。
This paper deals with the relationships between ultimate comprssive strength and some physical characteristics of Ryukyu limestone from Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands, for engineering purposes. Ryukyu limestone, which is coral limestone formed and raised in the Pleistocene, is divided into two groupes for convenience, namely, Naha- Yomitan limestone and Makiminato limestone. On the other hand the strength characteristics of Motobu limestone which is formed in the Paleozoic are compered with those of Ryukyu limestone. The ratio of Young's modulus to the ultimate compressive strength, the modulus ratio, is 2000 : 1 for Naha- Yomitan limestone and 500 : 1 for Makiminato approximately. The compressive strength has tendence to decrease with increasing porosity. Especially for Naha- Yomitan limestone a remarkable decreasing compressive strength is considered to be the result of solution cavities contained in specimens. The value of Poisson's ratio is about 0.25 for Naha- Yomitan Iimestone.
