Abstract :本学術報告第16号, 14頁に図示してあるベッドを4つ用いて, キュウリに対する施肥適量試験を行った。3月20日に1ベッドに16点に播種した。水は蒸発散により殆んどあるいは完全になくなった時に入れた。肥料は住友液肥2号をA, B, C, Dベッドにそれぞれ60,80,100,120ccずつ週1回入れた。5月19日から収穫を始め, 6月12日に打ち切った。成績はD区が最もよかったがC区と大差はなく, 実際栽培にはC区を基準としてよいと思われる。10α当たり栽培期間120日の施肥量は第2表に示した。なお, 琉球政府農林局, 奥田, 熊沢らの施肥基準については第3表に示した。
Four beds as shown in page 14 of the Science Bulletin (No.16,1969) were used to find proper amount of fertilization to cucumber (variety : Chikushikohai Chojitsuochiai No.2). These beds were devised to supply water and fertilizer by capillary movement from water-storage pipes (plastic pipes, inner diameter : 10cm) laid 10cm below the central surface of the beds (4m X 2m). Water-conducting pipes (plastic pipes, inner diameter : 17mm, 11cm long) were incerted into the water-storage pipes spacing 20cm. In the water-conducting pipes glass granules were packed replacing fine sand which passed through plastic screen (open spaces of 1.1mm) and washed to discard soil particles. The reason for replacement is that the sand of Okinawa is calcarious and concreted with a lapse of time in the pipes. Four seeds were sown in a spot, 16 spots in the bed spacing 75×50cm in two rows along the plastic film (75cm wide) which was placed 3cm deep in the central part of the bed on March 20,1969. The emerged plants were finally thinned out leaving one per one spot. Water was poured into the storage pipes when it was almost or completely lost by evapotranspiration. Sixty (60), 80,100,and 120cc of liquid fertilizer (Sumitomo Ekihi No.2,10-5-8) was put into the storage pipes of A, B, C, and D respectively once a week. The results are shown in Table 1. D bed performed best but little different from C bed. In practical culture it seems that application of around 100cc of the fertilizer per week for 16 plants in 8m^2 is suitable. Equivalent amounts of fertilizer per 10a for 120 days of culture are shown in Table 2. And standard fertilization for cucumber per 10a is shown in Table 3.
