Historical records about official trips to Naha and CHOUKEN, which is the ritual where the KASHIRA and SHURIOOYAKO (Yaeyama officials) travels to pay respects to the King. The questions raised by the Yaeyamajima District Office (YAKUSHO) are answered by KURAMOTO (Yaeyama Administration). The KURAMOTO and YAKUSHO had different understandings in regards to the order of trips to the mainland, and the letter confirmed on the details of the selection process of officials to be sent to the mainland based on precedents. The standard selection process differed between the KASHIRA, SHURIOOYAKO, KURAHISSHA; and the YUNCHU and MEZASHI.
