Abstract :The transient stability of a practical power system on the Okinawa island is studied. The system includes a coal-thermal power station whose commercial operation is scheduled for 1987. In order to investigate the transient stability of this new system, a symmetrical three phase fault is assumed on the main line. The basic feature of the system is studied for varying fault point on the line.
