| Abstract | : | This paper discusses issues concerning disability and development,particularly focusing on the international trends in accessibility in infrastructure projects. Since the World Millennium Summit adopted the millennium development goals in 2000, inclusion of disability concerns into development has been accelerated. The relationship between poverty and disability has been recognized and it is commonly believed that disability is an important issue to tackle world poverty. This paper focuses on activities of the United Nations body and a multilateral
development bank namely the World Bank in the area of disability inclusion, particularly promotion of accessibility in infrastructure projects. |
