|Abstract ||:||To design a better practice room, and to obtain basic material to maintain the environment of study, we investigated by the questionnaire survey and taking pictures to understand the use state of a present woodworking practice room, and obtained the following conclusions.
1) The practice rooms were classified into four shape of a vertically long type, an oblong type, a square, and a special type (L-shaped type and so on) based on the position of the blackboard. In addition, we classified the practice rooms into three types by the state of arrangement of the woodwork machines. They were a length drawing type (the machines were drawn to the vertical direction in forward and the back) ,a horizontal drawing type (machines were drawn horizontally right and left) ,and a enclosure type (enclosed by setting up machines in the front, back, left and right) . The practice rooms were classified into 12 patterns in total. There were a lot of practice rooms where it is a vertically long type, and it was 79% of the investigation schools. And, the length drawing type was 48%, the horizontal drawing type was 17%, and the enclosure type was 35%.
2) The installation rates of the jigsaw, the wood drilling machine, and the belt sander were high, and those use rates were also high. On the other hand, the use ratio of wood lathe, band saw, and hand feed planer were low, and each use rate was 6%, 22%, and 33%. 235 machines were not being used among 656 total of the machine with the answer now, and it was a value of 36% of the entire machines.
3) The following answers were obtained as a reason why it was not used though the woodwork machine was set up. They were "those machines were not used in the teaching material being taught now", "the machine is broken", and "the machine operation is dangerous" and so on. If the woodwork machine is broken or the machine is not used by the reason of danger in the breakdown of the safety equipment, it is necessary to improve the machine immediately.
4) When one student practiced the woodwork, the work area needed was set to 3m^2. And the area needed to practice was subtracted from the area of present practice room at each school, and value R of the area of the remainder was calculated. When the correlation coefficient between the value of R and the number of students in one class was calculated, it became a value of -0.56, and was significant in the level of 1%. That is, the less the number of students in one class, the more a lot of work areas were secured for one student.|
